31 Days - Day 2

Day 2 - Dishes

I have way more dishes than I could possibly ever need for any one meal, so I have decided to pare those down as well. I still have more than I will use for any one meal, but I do have enough for two meals, plus one set of four place settings decorative dishes that are sentimental to me. The dishes I use on a daily basis are a set of red top, black bottom, square dishes (8 place settings) and a very simple set of dinner plates from the Dollar Tree. I have twelve of these. This may seem like a lot, but we have seven people in our family at this point in time. Technically speaking, I could get rid of the one set of 12 dishes, but that leaves us without dishes if more than one other person comes over for a meal and we host dinner often enough to make it worthwhile to have these dishes on hand as well.

I have a stack of dishes that I have cleared out, that are currently sitting on my front porch, waiting to be taken out to the van. I'll grab a picture of the stack (on top of the box that is filled) with the dishes to be gotten rid of and I'll share it with you.

I know what you mean! I'd like to get rid of some of ours, but really, we need everything we have. We have 5 on a normal night but if both teens' boyfriends are here, my mother in law, Corina and Tyler, then suddenly we have 10. Sometimes random kids from the neighborhood are here too, so I just keep 12 just in case. I actually have another 4 smaller plastic plates that can be used as well. They stack pretty flat and don't take up much room at least. I should probably get rid of some of the china and serving stuff, but I actually just end up collecting more. They're antiques! lol
